PARKING

There are different parking zones in the cities. In the short-term parking zones, parking fees must be paid. Chargeable parking zones are marked with blue floor markings. In Klagenfurt there are also green-marked areas where you can park all day and somewhat cheaper.

In free parking zones (mostly outside the city centre) you have to mark your exact arrival time with a parking meter/ parking disc (available in car shops, ÖAMTC, car dealers, tobacco shops) or with a handwritten note.

 

Parking in Villach

In marked areas, which are a 4-minute walk from the main square, you have to pay for parking. You can pay at a parking machine or by mobile phone (for fees see here). You can park there for a maximum of 3 hours. Parking for less than 20 minutes is free, but must be indicated by a parking meter.

In short-term parking zones, parking fees must be paid during the following hours:

Monday to Thursday from 8:00 to 18:00 and Fridays from 8:00 to 12:00.

On Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings parking is free of charge, but the maximum parking time is always 3 hours, which must be proven with a parking meter!

In other free parking zones, the maximum parking time is either one and a half hours or three hours. Here again a parking meter is required! Free parking is allowed from Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 18:00 and on Saturdays from 8:00 to 13:00 or 10:00 to 13:00.

Parking in Klagenfurt

The short-stay parking zones are marked in blue. The maximum parking time here is 3 hours. Here you can park for up to 30 minutes free of charge if you mark your exact arrival time with a parking meter or a handwritten note. If you stay longer than 30 minutes, you also have to pay for the first half hour.

Parking tickets are available from parking machines. Please see the fees here. You have to pay during the following times:

Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 8:00 to 12:00.

Outside the blue parking zone there are green parking zones. The same rules and fees apply as in the blue zone, but there is no time limit. Here you can park all day long, fees see here.
